Accelerated Resolution Therapy
A new (and improved) type of rapid eye movement therapy that has helped over 50 of my clients beyond words.

Because I can only do it so much justice. Let the links do the talking.

As my clients would all tell you, I’m much better at explaining this in person (and will be happy to if you bring it up in session). Traumatic memories like this are supposed to be stored in the “back” of the brain, however because traumas are not processed like regular memories, wires get crossed and it ends up in the “front” of the brain. Therefore we think about it often and can be easily triggered. What A.R.T allows us to do is to take that event, process it properly and move it to the “back” of the brain in long term storage.
When it comes to trauma, A.R.T can help the way you hold these memories and the impacts that they have on you, once they are correctly stored in the “back” of the brain.
Now that I am a master level A.R.T clinician, I can apply these techniques to SO MUCH MORE than just trauma, see the section “What I can A.R.T” for more information.
The process usually takes about two hours. In a set-up session, we will determine what you want to focus on for your A.R.T session. I will then prepare the script for your session, based on what you want and need to process through.
Again, this is such a difficult method to explain and can better be explained in sessions or a phone consultation.

It is important to note: you do not have to be a “talk therapy” client of mine to receive A.R.T! I get referrals from other therapist frequently and see clients just for A.R.T.
I can do A.R.T on so many different issues because I am trained specifically on these “scripts”. Just because I can A.R.T. these things, does not mean I am qualified or able to do talk therapy on these issues.
For example if you wanted to come to me for A.R.T. on your struggles with OCD or addiction, I will happily do those related A.R.T. sessions for you. When you indicate that you feel better and just want to do talk therapy now about your OCD and addiction, I will refer you to the therapist who has talk therapy related trainings or is specialized in those issues.
All to say, just because I am qualified to A.R.T. all these issues and help you process them with some rapid eye movements, doesn’t mean I’m qualified to do talk therapy on these issues. This is me “staying in my lane”.
